"Neighbors bring food with death and flowers with sickness and little things in between. Boo was our neighbor. He gave us two soap dolls, a broken watch and chain, a pair of good-luck pennies, and our lives. But neighbors give in return. We never put back into the tree what we took out of it: we had given him nothing, and it made me sad." - Scout in Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird

AHHH, the smells of home
Here are some of the scents wafting through the air in our home this day... baby powder (dumped on Cole's bedroom carpet), pina colada (that would be shampoo dumped on my bedroom carpet), vaseline intensive care lotion (all over the bathroom floor--twice), cinnamon (the industrial size from Sam's Club dumped throughout the pantry), spicy red pepper flakes, (again, the gigantic bottle from Sam's Club emptied onto the kitchen floor). And this is all in the last 48 hours. This doesn't even cover the smell of Rick and the shopvac in the bathroom sucking the wash clothes out of the toilet that Cole tried to flush away yesterday. The entire package of floss he used to occupy himself for all of about 30 seconds. Or how about the entire tube of toothpaste he used to paint the sink at the neighbors house down the street that we visited with on New Years Eve. I thought I was just being a nice mom by not wiping his adorable little hand prints from the fridge 5 times a day because some day I will miss those tiny little handprints. But, I will NOT miss vacuuming, scrubbing, and picking up dumptrucks filled with butter, yes, butter.

I love your son!
AHHH...Dodo!!! You have to love him.
Oh, the joys of parenting. Last night Porter threw a large glass of chocolate milk at Eliza (she was teasing him!). That's fun to clean-up!
