"Neighbors bring food with death and flowers with sickness and little things in between. Boo was our neighbor. He gave us two soap dolls, a broken watch and chain, a pair of good-luck pennies, and our lives. But neighbors give in return. We never put back into the tree what we took out of it: we had given him nothing, and it made me sad." - Scout in Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird

making cookies with Kris
most of the time if you get a plate of cookies from me you do not have to worry about Cole's little fingers dipping into the dough. But, with Aunt Kris, Cole gets what he wants and helping with the cookies was exactly what he wanted. Even though we all knew Cole had his fingers in the cookie dough, the cookies didn't last long!

Technically it was really the flour that he kept on sticking his fingers in, & it did keep him out of trouble for quite a while. I guess I should have made him wash his hands before, but I don't know if that would have helped anyway. They weren't my finest cookies, but they were still mighty good.
