"Neighbors bring food with death and flowers with sickness and little things in between. Boo was our neighbor. He gave us two soap dolls, a broken watch and chain, a pair of good-luck pennies, and our lives. But neighbors give in return. We never put back into the tree what we took out of it: we had given him nothing, and it made me sad." - Scout in Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird

this is what happens when you magnify your calling...
our lesson today was about covenants, specifically the temple. So, I went and got some of those long pretzel sticks and dipped them in chocolate. The way I was going to tie it into the lesson is that life is like the pretzel. You don't want the little ones that are tied in "knots" you want the long and straight ones--like staying on the straight and narrow path--it's sweeter that way. OK. Whatever, I figured the girls would like them even if it was a little corny. Too bad the dog ate all of the chocolate dipped pretzels during the night.
